The front fence at Hillside Cemetery has been repaired/refurbished all accept the areas between the garage and crypt.  Roger is looking to ways to re grade the slop which may need to be done before fence repairs can be done.

Water line at Hillside Cemetery has been completed. There is now water thorough out the cemetery.  Water pipes will be painted in the spring (dark blue).  New faucets heads will be installed in the spring as well.  Looking at various types of faucets heads possible ones that might be on a timer or shut off automatically.

A discussion was held on Adams Dam, this area might serve as a potential recreation site for the town.  The town owns the land around the dam; the rail road owns the trestle it would be necessary to find out who owns the actual dam itself.  Possibly partner with other groups (fisheries and wildlife) to apply for grants to restore dam and surrounding area.  Pam will check assessor’s office for information.  Town’s 1999 Master Plan may also have information.

Leslie Gabrilska (conservation) would like to see a gate at Adams Dam to keep people away from the river bank.  Some of the local businesses are not in favor of this idea as it will interfere/impact with their business especially the parking.  A conversation followed about constantly blocking/fencing off town properties.  The department tabled further discussions until the conversation commission has a valid plan and brings the plan to the Cemetery and Parks Dept.

Roger would like to purchase a piece of equipment for snow removal.  Cost would be appox. 6,500.00. Pam will see what funds the department has available and Roger will check with the Town Administrator to see if there are other funds available as well.

Rules and Regulations for the Town Common were reviewed and modified.  “Event organizers are responsible to monitor vehicle traffic on and off the common during the event” will be added.  A signature line will be added to the event application.  Both will be reviewed at a later meeting.

Potential Eagle Scout projects were discussed.  Possible Pergola over the circular garden in section 10.

Roger has been getting information on Columbarium for Section 10.  Concerns with cemetery expansion into Section due to wetlands. Roger will check sol report from conservation commissions.

New area in Riverside Cemetery has been progressing.  Fill was taken from Hillside to the new section of Riverside saving the department a considerable amount of money.  Next spring the rows will be mapped out.

The next meeting is scheduled for December15, 2014 at 6:30PM.  The annual Christmas gathering.

Meeting adjourned 9:00PM.
